Course Objectives
The general aims of the course are to facilitate the adjustment
by new barristers to their life at the Bar and to develop
their understanding and performance of the basic skills required
of a barrister, in particular, to:
A. develop an understanding of their role and responsibilities
as barristers;
B. acquire basic skills in drawing pleadings;
C. acquire basic skills in preparation of cases for hearing;
D. acquire basic skills in settlement negotiation;
E. acquire basic skills in the presentation of cases before
various courts and tribunals and;
F. enhance their understanding of aspects of the social
environment which are relevant to their work as barristers.
