The New Barristers’ Standing Committee (“NBSC”) is a Committee of the Victorian Bar that was established in July 2003.
As the name suggests the NBSC focuses on issues of special significance to new barristers.
Our membership consists of barristers under five years call or under 36 years of age.
| (a) |
investigating and improving accommodation opportunities for new barristers; |
| (b) |
continuing legal education issues; |
| (c) |
the provision of networking opportunities for new barristers; and |
| (d) |
arranging social events. |
The NBSC produces its own newsletter and liases with Bar Council and other Bar Council committees, Young Lawyers LIV, the courts and other bodies.
Each successive group of Bar Readers votes one of their number to be its NBSC representative.
The NBSC is interested in issues that concern new barristers and encourages new barristers to contact NBSC members for their assistance.
