Election

Nominations

A person shall not be eligible for election unless:

(a) the person is a member who has attained the age of eighteen (18) years;

(b) the nomination is in writing and is signed by the candidate, the member nominating the candidate and by three (3) other members;

(c) the nomination of the person as a candidate for election is lodged at the place and within the period determined by the Returning Officer; and

(d) the person certifies in writing that he or she is not a disqualified person within the meaning of the Superannuation Law as defined in the Trust Deed of the Fund.

A member may not nominate or sign the nomination for more than one (1) candidate.

Where on expiry of the nomination period, the number of candidates is equal to or less than the number of vacancies, the returning officer shall declare that the candidate or candidates have been elected.

Where the declared number of candidates is less than the number of vacancies the remaining positions shall be filled through invitation by the directors.

In other cases an election will be held in accordance with the election rules.

Shortly prior to the next election of directors, nomination forms will be available from this site or from the Fund Secretary, located on Level 1, Douglas Menzies Chambers, 180 William Street, Melbourne, Vic 3000.
