Victorian Bar supports Civil Procedure Bill

Pro Bono Award recipients announced
Thousands of hours and millions of dollars worth of free legal services were acknowledged at the Victorian Bar Pro Bono Awards presented by the Chief Justice, Marilyn Warren AC on Tuesday night in the Supreme Court. Read the Chief Justice's speech here. Awards were presented in seven categories, including the Victorian Bar Pro Bono Trophy (awarded to Julian Burnside AO QC). The Victorian Bar put the value of the legal work done for free at more than $6.5M in the 2009 calendar year.
